you’ll be responsible for—

  • Technology Leadership: Oversee Proximity’s AI/ML solutions, performance engineering, and data engineering verticals. Ensure we stay ahead of the curve with cutting-edge technologies and future-proof client solutions.
  • Managed Services & Consulting: Lead Proximity’s managed engineering and consulting services, ensuring high-impact client engagements that align with business goals.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a 50+ remote engineering team. Focus on leveraging AI/ML tools to enhance efficiency, continuously upskill the team, and create a culture of innovation.
  • System Scalability & Architecture: Oversee the development of robust backend systems and scalable platforms. Expertise in backend technologies such as Node.js, Go, Java, and cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, and Azure is required. Ensure the team adopts best practices in distributed systems, microservices, and DevOps.
  • Client-Facing Role: Engage with client CTOs and senior leadership in a consultative capacity. Participate in pre-sales, pitches, and problem-solving sessions, positioning Proximity as a trusted technology partner.
  • Strategic Vision: Collaborate with executive leadership to shape the technological vision and align it with Proximity’s broader business strategy.

you need—

  • Experience: 10+ years in technology roles, with at least 5 years in senior leadership positions, ideally within high-growth companies or startups.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong background in AI/ML solutions, backend technologies (Node.js, Go, Java), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). Familiarity with front-end frameworks like Next.js and tools such as Docker and Terraform is preferred.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Proven ability to lead and mentor large, diverse teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in navigating resource-constrained environments using first-principles thinking.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, adept at bridging technical and business conversations.
  • Client Engagement: Experience with consultative selling and long-term client relationship management, especially with C-suite executives, is a big plus.
